i'll answer questions if i know the answer, i do not feed beggars ! i will and have helped on missions that are extremely tough or require human help, ie: eternal grove, but only if asked nicely. i ALWAYS help my guildies my definition of help is this: i will assit in missions/bonuses. never give money, will give materials-within reason. will give away weapons that i dont need or want. basically i try to be as pleasant as possible to all fellow GW players.

I'll answer a legitimate question, when I can. However, I tend to ignore the overly needy.

Sometimes I give persistent beggars good advice: go out and kill something.

Usually when I have someone asking for information on how to do a certain thing in the game, I do a quick search in wiki, copy the web address and forward the link.

"Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will eat for a lifetime" - Chinese proverb, a personal favorite of mine

I ignore everyone and everything. My all/trade/team chat is off 95% of the time (unless playing with guildies/friends). I don't help anyone anymore. Too many bad experiences.

I kick them in the nuts, tell them to get used to that happening, pat them on the back and walk away.

I'll usually whisper a link to the wiki to help. I've been burnt by helping people out with plat / materials etc and end up getting begging whispers for weeks afterwards so I don't bother anymore.

I sometimes help out newbies by giving them free runs trough early missions, free items (greens or crappy golds).

I had a lot of left over greens from all the HoS runs and gave those to newbies in Ascalon, then helped them trough missions and gave them a little pocketmoney..

Sometimes when i see someone asking for 500g or maybe some iron or something i'll help them out. Also give advice to newbies.

I am actually very friendly and helpful.. I believe in Karma

Hmmm... There seems to be alot of hate for new players who need a little bit of advice in this game, i believe that alot of people begging in towns are infact not first time players, generally they are players with other characters. These people i think should not be begging nor trying to take advantage of their low level...

... But i do believe that players that are infact NEW to the game, their first main character should be helped and i try to do so in every way i can... if i have free greens or vendor trash items lying around i will give it to them to help them on their way, if they need help in a mission i will help, and if they need advice i am happy to oblige... although i do tend to make sure they are first time players and not just trying to take my good nature for granted...

So to sum up, i dont think the true NEWBIES or NEW players should be punished for what a few selfish players do.

If some 'noob' is begging 50g or something and i'm on good mood, i'll give them few plats. I remember how cool was when some "über rich leet player" boosted me with black dye If they beging begging more and/or spamming some stupid questions for me, i simply ignore them.

I will help by giving info/advice/partying, but never by giving money. I feel sad for all the peeps out there who don't want to work to earn anything on their own... its going to be a tough life for them.

I help them out by buying their black dyes for 100g.

Nah, I usually just pug with them and give them some pointers.

- i often give advice to people and tell em of tricks/ easier ways etc etc if i know em
-i also have done some give aways to poeple i don't know and people i do know.

but i tend to avoid beggers and people who "claim" items (as in people who get aggresive if they don't get it at all or not fast enough)

I mock them for having bad items and tell them that their skill bar sucks ass and then I kick them out of my party, ignore them and tell them to stop playing.

Do you give free items or free runs?
- No, I don't give things away.

Help them in missions?
- Yes, if I'm doing the mission. On early missions when going for Protector, I look for low levels to bring along.

Teach them about game mechanics?
- If I see what they are doing to correct, I'll point something out.

Give them tips on what to do next?
- I give advice if asked for it

Help them find the information they are looking for?
- Honesty is the best policy. If they want to know something and I know what they want, happy to share.

Tour them through the UI and basic controls?
- Not often. I'm not a tutorial

Tell them the philosophy behind a skill, a build or a profession?
- Yes. I figure I have Protectors with all 10 professions, I might have a trick or two.
